Physical Community Special Interest Group

Welcome to the homepage of the Physical Community SIG which is a part of NZAOT. Members of NZAOT who have an interest in the aims and key activities of the group are invited to join.

The group supports and promotes occupational therapists working within physical community services. NZAOT encourages the sharing of information, expertise and skills by providing a national resource and networking system for its members.

Members are encouraged to share their resources.

Objectives

  • To provide a network throughout New Zealand of occupational therapists with a special interest in community occupational therapy .
  • To facilitate the sharing and distribution of ideas and resources within the group.
  • To be an identifiable resource for NZAOT Council land Executive Director for issues pertaining to community occupational therapists.
  • To provide a forum to discuss occupational therapy issues in community occupational therapy about concerns which affect the profession locally, regionally and nationally.
  • To provide an opportunity to facilitate consistency on policies procedures and issues nationally.

Main activities

  • Email discussion and sharing of resources.
  • Face to face meetings when arranged by SIG members.
