Pain Management Special Interest Group

Welcome to the homepage of the Pain Management SIG which is a part of NZAOT. Members of NZAOT who have an interest in the aims and key activities of the group are invited to join.

The group supports and promotes occupational therapists working within Pain Management and related services. NZAOT encourages the sharing of information, expertise and skills by providing a national resource and networking system for its members.

Members are encouraged to share their resources. Resources can be sent to NZAOT office for placing on this web site.

Objectives

  • A focus on chronic pain and occupational therapy practice.
  • Promotion of occupational therapy within the field of chronic pain management.
  • Facilitation of the sharing of information with colleagues.
  • Provision of mutual support for group members via an email LISTserv.
  • Facilitation of active involvement of the group members in relevant educational activities and opportunities.
  • Fostering of the development of this specialist area of occupational therapy practice
