Independent Practitioners Special Interest Group

Welcome to the homepage of the Independent Practitioners SIG which is a part of NZAOT. Members of NZAOT who have an interest in the aims and key activities of the group are invited to join.

The group supports and promotes Independent Practitioners who provide Occupational Therapy services in the private domain. NZAOT encourages the sharing of information, expertise and skills by providing a national resource and networking system for its members.

Members are encouraged to share their resources.

Objectives

  • To provide a network throughout New Zealand of occupational therapists with a special interest in independent practice
  • To facilitate the sharing and distribution of ideas and resources within the group
  • To be an identifiable resource for NZAOT Council and Executive Director for issues pertaining to independent practice
  • To provide a forum to discuss occupational therapy issues in the area of independent practice where concerns, which affect the profession locally, regionally and nationally, can be discussed
  • To provide the opportunity to facilitate consistency on policies, procedures and issues nationally
