Children and Young People’s Occupational Therapy Special Interest Group

Welcome to the homepage of the Children and Young Peoples’ Occupational Therapy SIG (CHYPOT) which is a part of NZAOT. Members of NZAOT who have an interest in the aims and key activities of the group are invited to join.

The group supports and promotes Occupational Therapy within services for children and young people. NZAOT encourages the sharing of information, expertise and skills by providing a national resource and networking system for its members.

Objectives

  • To provide a network throughout New Zealand of occupational therapists with a special interest in children and young people
  • To facilitate the sharing and distribution of ideas and resources within the group
  • To be an identifiable resource for NZAOT Council and Executive Director for issues pertaining to children and young people
  • To provide a forum to discuss occupational therapy issues in the area of children and young people where concerns, which affect the profession locally, regionally and nationally, can be discussed
  • To provide the opportunity to facilitate consistency on policies, procedures and issues nationally
