Part-year subscriptions
If you join NZAOT, for the first time, after 1 July you are entitled to a pro-rated subscription fee. To download a list of pro-rated fees, click here.
Membership Categories
Full Membership (full time, Proportional, Minor Proportional, First Professional Year)
Individuals can apply for full membership if they:
- Have a current registration as an occupational therapist in New Zealand
- Satisfy any other criteria as set out in the Regulations
Within the Full Member category, individuals may join as a full time member:
- Full - more than 25 hours/week
- First Professional year
or part time member:
- Proportional – 25 hours or fewer/week
- Minor Proportional - 10 hours or less/week
Other Membership
Students can apply for membership if they:
- Are currently enrolled full time in an undergraduate occupational therapy course or are a registered occupational therapist enrolled full time in postgraduate educational programme
- Satisfy any other criteria as set out in the Regulations
Retired occupational therapists can apply for membership if they:
- Are no longer employed as an occupational therapist; and
- Are aged 65 years or older.
Associates can apply for membership if they:
- Do not qualify for Full Membership but assist, support or are interested in occupational therapy.
- May include occupational therapy support staff, as well as occupational therapists who are not practising in New Zealand and who do not hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
