Strategic Plan

Strategic planning is an essential tool for any organization. The key purpose is to help an organization do better. Doing a better job means focusing our energy and ensuring we are all working towards the same goals.

Members are invited to contribute to the planning process at any time.  Feedback can be based on 5 key organizational questions:

  • What activities does NZAOT do well at the moment?
  • What 2 activities could NZAOT do better?
  • What are the top 5 issues you would like NZAOT to concentrate on over the next year?
  • What do you see as the benefits of belonging to NZAOT?
  • Where would you like NZAOT to be in 5 years time?

Our current Strategic Plan is from 2007 - 2012

Annual Plan

Each year the Council reviews the Association's achievements against the previous annual (business) plan.  The outcomes are reported in the Annual report.

With member input a renewed annual (business) plan is developed and the strategic goals refined.

The annual plan is like a road map to tell us how we expect to to operate and achieve our strategic goals.  It provides a yardstick by which progress may be measured and changes evaluated.

Our plans miscarry because they have no aim. When a man does not know what harbour he is making for, no wind is the right wind. Seneca
